'' This 15-hour course is designed to give children at the elementary or middle-school level some basic vocabulary, questions, and key phrases to communicate in a limited capacity with Spanish-speakers. Different aspects of the Hispanic culture will be incorporated into the course. Grammar will not be a program component.
Participants will learn to:
Locate Spanish-speaking countries on a map
Discuss cultural characteristics of Mexico & Spain
Identify classroom vocabulary
Understand and respond to classroom commands
Say the alphabet and spell words in Spanish
Identify school subjects
Express your likes and dislikes related to school
Greet someone, introduce yourself, and say good-bye
Ask how someone is doing & say how you are
Identify numbers 0-20
Give someone your telephone number
Say how old you are
Identify family members
Describe how people are related
Introduce and talk about your family
Identify colors
Identify animals
Say what pets you have and what color they are
