You’ll also gain first-hand experience with different insurance products and learn to create a medical insurance claim on behalf of a patient. We’ll teach you how to fill out a CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) electronically and in paper form-daily tasks that are crucial in this field. You’ll also gain knowledge in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Billing & Insurance, Medical Ethics and Law, and Pharmacology. Additionally, you’ll gain an understanding of the growing importance of security and privacy of medical records - HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance, Portability & Accountability Act). Upon the successful completion of all classes, you’ll serve an Externship that provides invaluable practical experience under the supervision of a cooperating physician’s office, clinic, or other healthcare facility. Our Medical Administration Certificate Program provides the foundation to pursue further training in Medical Coding and Billing.
