Course Description:

'' Building on the "Documentary Camera" and "The Interview" modules,
students will apply storytelling skills to the format of non-fiction
filmmaking. Working with real subjects to maximize authenticity,
students work on the interaction between camera and subject, between
director and subject, as well as the use of documentary filmmaking
techniques. The psychology of the interview and the powerful role of the
editor in documentary are discussed. Mornings will focus on study and
discussion with afternoons dedicated to exercises and applications of
documentary and non-fiction directing techniques with in-class screening
and discussion with the instructor. ...''
