'' This distance education program allows you to complete the courses (modules) required to receive an Electronics Technician certificate while studying at home using an interactive learning package. The package consists of a CD-ROM containing 23 modules delivered using text, video, two-dimensional and three-dimensional animations, colour photos, audio and hundreds of laboratory projects. Tests are taken at home using computer-based testing. Laboratory projects are delivered using powerful software simulators. This interactive learning package allows you to complete all the modules including lab projects, assignments and tests using a computer from the comfort of your own home.
Career Opportunities
The program primarily prepares you for employment and/or further on-the-job training as a service technician in the field of consumer, commercial and industrial electronics. Typical job-related activities may involve assembly, installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of associated electronic equipment and systems.
Advanced Standing
You can take advantage of George Brown College¡¯s partnership with Athabasca University (Athabasca, Alberta) and Bemidji State University (Bemidji, Minnesota). Graduates of this unique CD-ROM program can transfer earned credits toward a four-year distance education Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology Management degree. You can also transfer earned credits toward the Electro-mechanical Technician CD-ROM program and toward an Electronic Engineering Technician Diploma program.
