'' This program is the successor to the former Health Care Aide, Home Support Worker Training and Support Care programs. It prepares students to work in long-term care facilities, chronic care facilities, private homes, supportive housing and assisted living centres in the community. The Personal Support Worker provides personal care for the comfort and safety of clients and helps to create a climate that promotes optimal physical, social and emotional well-being.
Admission Requirements/Prerequisites
Grade 12. Mature students 19 years and older with less than Grade 12 will be considered on an individual basis. Facility with English is an absolute requirement and will be tested. For field placement, a Pre-placement Immunization Passport and a criminal record check are required.
