Course Description:

'' Step into the exciting business of Fashion and Design, where you can enjoy a rewarding career as an illustrator, manufacturer, merchandiser, model, photographer, costume or fashion designers. Skilled professionals are in demand, nationally, internationally and right here in Las Vegas. This comprehensive program will introduce you to entry level and advanced principles while refining your design, presentation and portfolio skills. You will learn both the creative and technical sides of the fashion industry through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and field trips. Fashion Design students also participate in fashion shows, award competitions and student mixers. Events are scheduled each semester.

Fashion classes for the beginner and more advanced professional are available. You may take individual classes without completing the program.

To earn the Certificate of Completion you must complete 232 hours (23.2 CEU¡¯s), 160 hours are in core classes and 72 hours are selected from a list of electives; and receive satisfactory scores on exams and projects. Students who receive their Certificate of Completion from UNLV are eligible to apply for their professional credential offered through UNLV and NAFD.
This Certificate program is offered in conjunction with Nevada Association of Fashion Design, (NAFD) a nonprofit organization, founded in January of 1995. Fashion Designer Professional Certifications and memberships are offered upon completion.
