'' The McIntosh College Paralegal Studies Associate of Science Degree program can provide the academic and technical foundation to help you build a professional career as a paralegal. During your paralegal studies program, a broad spectrum of pertinent paralegal issues and curriculum are covered, including traditional legal research, communications, business and computer courses.

McIntosh College students majoring in paralegal studies will have the additional advantage of receiving computerized research training using Westlaw.

Paralegal Studies program graduates from McIntosh College may find opportunities within the federal and state court systems, government offices, large law firms, corporate legal departments, banks or with individual attorneys. Private law firms currently employ 7 out of 10 paralegals, offering challenging and important work in this expanding industry.

Paralegal Studies Program Educational Objectives

Competency in the core areas of substantive law
The ability to prioritize and index information as it relates to legal issues and matters
The ability to draft basic legal documents and proceedings
The ability to perform basic legal research
The ability to understand and use legal terminology
An understanding of the court system and legal processes
CLA Exam Preparation
Each spring McIntosh College is the test site for the Certified Legal Assistant Exam administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants. Students enrolled in our Paralegal Program are encouraged to take the course and the CLA® Exam. McIntosh College does not guarantee third-party testing. Test requirements for taking and passing examinations are not controlled by McIntosh College but by outside agencies and are subject to change by the agencies without notice to McIntosh College.
