Students in the Interactive Media Design program at The Art Institute of Portland want to do a little bit of everything. They want to produce one day and then play with information architecture the next. They want to take pictures, and then animate the images to music. They are inquisitive by nature and enjoy working through ambiguity, with an interest in figuring out the human psyche.
In this program, students learn how to combine foundation design skills with industry-relevant technology. They study audio, video, coding, design, information architecture along with general studies and foundation arts courses. They learn from experienced instructors in this relatively new and exciting field. Through internships, contests, production team projects and portfolio development courses, students have the opportunity to further their professional skills by working for real-world clients and in true production team settings.
