This rigorous program will help you to expand your way of thinking, enhance your already burning desire to tell stories and motivate you to understand the practical and the technical side of the business. Here, you¡¯ll hit the ground running, studying shooting, editing, audio, storyboarding, concept development, psychology, writing and producing. In this program, it¡¯s not just about you ¨C it¡¯s about the team. You¡¯ll work on projects and build relationships with your classmates. You¡¯ll learn about how the industry works, and what you need to do to stay a cut above.

Portland is a sleeping giant in the film and video industry, which makes it a great place to earn your degree. Hundreds of feature films, television series¡¯ and commercials have been shot on location in or around the Portland area in the past few years, including the films The Ring, The Hunted, Bandits, and portions of A.I., Antitrust, and Swordfish. The Art Institute of Portland has built valuable relationships with organizations such as the Oregon Film and Video Office and the Oregon Media Production Association, and offers students the opportunity to network at various events, workshops and meetings with industry professionals. Furthermore, as a student of the Digital Film & Video program, you¡¯ll learn from a faculty that consists of directors, producers, scriptwriters, editors, sound engineers and other industry professionals who want to help you succeed in the business.
