'' In our ever-greater reliance on software in our business processes, the features and techniques of object-oriented technology help to reduce the complexities of modern business systems. Additionally, complex designs are made manageable with robust CASE tools, and Rational Rose® is the leading object-oriented design tool on the market.

This course teaches the processes, techniques, and artifacts necessary for modern object-oriented analysis and design. This course also teaches use of the Rational Rose® tool for design development, automatic code generation, and reverse and round-trip engineering. Students will learn the core competencies in object-oriented analysis, design, and Rational Rose® tool usage through detailed lecture and hands-on labs.

Core analysis and design competencies of class modeling, sequence diagramming, state modeling, and collaboration diagramming
Essential documentation for elements within each of these models

Use of analysis, architecture, and design patterns
Use of the Rational Rose® tool to produce use case models, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, and to generate and reverse engineer code
