Course Description:
'' The objective of this course is to prepare the student for entry-level employment as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists with technical tasks. Pharmacy Technicians are employed by independent pharmacies, chain pharmacies, hospital and long-term health care organizations, pharmaceutical divisions and manufacturers. This program consists of ninety (90) weeks, divided into nine (9) terms of ten (10) weeks each, 102 quarter credit hours of theory and associated lab instruction, as well as fifteen (15) quarter credit hours of general education, for a total of 117 quarter credit hours (1790 Clock Hours) in the areas described below. Each ten (10) week term is equal to thirteen (13) quarter credit hours (QCH). Please see Addendum E for a description of the General Education courses.
