Training Course:OSPF Design & ConfigurationSchool/Trainer:Global Knowledge (UK) Inc. Dublin,Maidenhead, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The OSPF protocol is the most widely used routing protocol in Cisco-based Intranets. This powerful 2-day Hands-on course teaches the design principles that are critical in developing an efficient and stable network infrastructure. Seven Hands-on Labs help you master these design principles and learn the important configuration commands.
Learn How To
Use advanced configuration commands for Cisco routers Develop OSPF problem solving and troubleshooting skills Understand route redistribution of RIP and IGRP Understand OSPF area concepts Time the Hello Timer Design Scalable OSPF Networks Change the OSPF Cost Value Design OSPF Over NBMAs Understand Stubby, Totally Stubby, and Not-So Stubby Areas What Youll Learn Course Outline
1.Introduction 2.The OSPF Protocols 3.OSPF Backbone and Area Concepts 4.Designing OSPF Networks for Scalability 5.OSPF Over Nonbroadcast Multiaccess (NBMA) Networks 6. Special OSPF Features
Course Labs
Lab 1: Router Configuration Turn OSPF on within a single area. Configure a loopback interface. Configure a basic subnetted IP scheme.
Lab 2: Backbone Area Design Configure multiple areas in the classroom network.
Lab 3: Debugging OSPF Learn the correct commands and techniques to troubleshoot your OSPF configuration including understanding the OSPF protocol handshakes.
Lab 4: Route Summarisation Use the Area-Range command at the ABR. Also, plan a CIDR block addressing scheme for good summarisation.
Lab 5: Route Redistribution and Stubby Areas Learn to redistribute RIP and IGRP into an OSPF network. Also, design and build an OSPF Stubby Area.
Lab 6: Virtual Links Build a Virtual Link to mend a broken area.
Lab 7: Features Lab Learn to utilise various OSPF features including starting authentication, tuning the SPF timer, tuning the Hello timer, changing the OSPF cost value and changing the Designated Router.
Who Needs to Attend This course is intended for networking professionals who have a need to integrate Cisco’s OSPF protocol into their network. This course is critical to anyone currently running or considering running OSPF.
