'' This course provides delegates with a practical introduction to analysis and design using the UML. Every delegate receives a copy of the book, UML 2 and the Unified Process by Jim Arlow and Ila Neustadt. During the course delegates work on series of practical exercises designed to apply the UML in a variety of business applications. An overview is also provided of a generic Unified Process. On the fifth day there is an optional ISEB examination (see below) and an optional tutorial where participants apply the UML to specifications they are currently developing "in-house". This immediate practical application of the UML has proved popular with participants at a number of organisations who are currently using or evaluating the UML.
This course is delivered by trainers who bring their substantial practical experience to the programme.
ISEB qualifications This course prepares candidates to sit the examination for the ISEB Certificate in Systems Modelling Techniques. This involves a one-hour, open book examination that may be taken at the end of the course or at a public examination session. The certificate in Systems Modelling Techniques is a core module for the ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis and a specialist module for the ISEB Diploma in Systems Development . ...''
