Course Description:

'' This Workshop provides the basic tools use to create and edit 3D drawings in either Hypermill/ AutoCad Inventor 10/ Lycom Alfacam or Delcam so they can be viewed from any angle and give a rendered visualisation.

The Workshop covers the basics of wireframe, surface and solid modelling.

Who Should Attend?

Engineers, designers, drafters, and professionals who wish to do 3D drawings/models for a particular discipline or engineering application using the programmes listed above. Other programmes can be made available i.e Katia

What entry requirements are required?

Good knowledge of 2D AutoCAD 2005 or completed the ¡°Computer Aided Design Advanced¡± (CAM2) Workshop.

Use the 3D User Coordinate System and the ¡°Right Hand rule¡±.
Create 3D viewports (multiple views) and set the viewing direction.
Construct 3D wire-frames and surfaces.
Construct 3D solid models using solid primitives.
Create composite solid using Boolean operators.
Edit and modify existing shapes and solids.
Render 3D models for image visualisation using lights, scenes and materials.
Save and redisplay images

Introduction to 3D.
3D co-ordinate entry.
User co-ordinate systems.
Utilising multiple viewports, view rotation commands, thickness, elevation 3D faces, rules surfaces, extruded surfaces, revolved surfaces.
Generating drawings from Solids; surface primitives, extruded solids, revolved solids, composite solids.
3D editing tools, analytical features.
Utilising paper space and model space for 3D.
Introduction to Visualization and Rendering.
