'' This two day course covers the basic steps involved in configuring an Internet firewall, and provides hands-on training to manage a FireWall-1 installation. In addition, new capabilities in the Next Generation (NG) version of VPN-1/FireWall-1 are highlighted. This is a comprehensive course allowing the student to gain hands-on experience in the workshops, learning how to administer and support a FireWall-1 firewall.

The student will gain real-life experience as they install, design and implement various corporate security policies for Firewall-1.

Objectives
Understand VPN-1/Firewall-1 architecture and how to deploy its various modules and components.
Define a security policy using the VPN-1/Firewall-1Security Dashboard, incorporating the visual Policy Editor.Administer and troubleshoot VPN-1/Firewall-1 security polic
Implement network address translation (NAT). Understand how to set up user authentication in a VPN-1/Firewall-1 environment. Deploy and manage distributed security gateways using Check Point¡¯s Secure update and Secure Internal Communications (SIC) capabilities.

Pre-Requisites
Delegates are required to meet the following prerequisites:

A working knowledge of basic internet tools such as Web browsers, FTP and Telnet.
System level knowledge of Microsoft NT OS and should be able to manipulate files and directories and manage processes.An understanding of TCP/IP, network addressing and subnet masks.Knowledge of TCP/IP
