Course Description:

'' The role of the Legal Executive is becoming more integral than ever before to the daily work of the modern legal office. Fellows of the Institute enjoy considerable status within the legal office team, and in connection with advocacy work in the courts. They are now allowed to appear in the lower courts, before district judges in a wide range of subject matters.
It is anticipated that the College will offer the following subjects:

Civil Litigation - Tort - Contract - Crime - Family

Also other subjects such as Family and Employment Law can be offered subject to the enrolment targets being met.

NB: If there are insufficient enrolments for any of the above subjects, we will have to withdraw that subject for the year. The college target is 15 students for each different subject offered.

Apart from the benefits of obtaining a valued qualification recognised in its own right the course will offer two other important benefits.

Firstly, the opportunity to gain exemptions from the Common Professional Examination (CPE)(now called the Postgraduate Diploma in Law) of the Law Society.

Secondly, to acquire ILEX Membership status and progress to become a Fellow of the Institute.

Course Content
The basic elements of the Law and Practice of the particular subjects chosen will be presented. The course is very detailed and pitched at undergraduate level (as required by the Institute).
