'' Consider doing one of our Certificate programmes if you are:
A manager or staff member responsible for people management

A junior personnel practitioner, eg a HR Administrator or a Training Officer, and you need a basic but thorough grounding in the practice of people management

The Certificate Level Qualifications are foundation-level programmes, at an equivalent level to an NVQ/SVQ Level 3.

Progression
The CTP is a stand-alone qualification, valid in its own right. Studying for the CTP provides students with their first step towards a successful career in training. It covers the skills required by proficient trainers such as training officers, training advisers and line managers.
On completion of a certificate level qualification, candidates will be eligible for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. However, this does not imply that the candidate can automatically progress to Professional Development Scheme level.

Assessment on the Certificate Level programmes is by two written and two skill based assignments plus a work-based project. Students are also required to maintain a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) record throughout their studies.

Course Content
The Certificate in Training Practice is intended to:
Specify the operational performance standards needed for the qualification, and the knowledge and skills that an effective trainer needs.

Develop an awareness of the context for training and development, and the key issues that impact on its planning and delivery.
