Course Description:

'' The Introduction to Team Leading qualification is designed for people who are working in formal teams or groups. This course is especially relevant as a closed course to develop teams within your organisation. Wherever people and resources are employed, team workers with this qualification ensure that they are employed effectively.

The course has two primary objectives:
- To assist participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by
a team/cell leader
- To develop basic team leading skills.

Structure
This is a part-time course, which must be completed within one year. Training will include a minimum of 22 guided learning hours delivered as per the candidate’s requirements. Knowledge will be assessed by two short answer questions per segment. Reflective learning and personal development are essential features of the course, to be achieved through the Personal Development Record.

Content
The course will cover:
- Induction
- The Role of the Team Leader
- Five Segments selected from the full range available with a
minimum of one from each module
- Assessment and associated tutorial.

Career Opportunities
This course is designed to provide existing team leaders with skills to better perform their role. It may also help potential team leaders to progress in to a team-leading role. It also helps develop the spirit of team working within teams.

Progression
Modules for the Introduction to Team Leading (ILM Level 2) award are credited towards the full Team Leading Award where this is undertaken at the same centre. There is no exemption from the assessment requirements.

Successful completion of the Introduction to Team Leading Certificate provides eligibility for Affiliate membership (AInstLM) of the Institute of Leadership and Management. Full details from ILM, Stowe House, Lichfield on 01543 251346.

Preferred Entry Requirements
Although participants will normally be either practising or aspiring team or cell leaders, and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the course, there are no formal entry requirements. Sponsored and unsponsored participants are equally eligible.
