'' This course is suitable for candidates who work, or hope to work in a network administration environment such as an IT department.
The Professional Development Award covers the syllabus for the core exams of the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (Windows 2003). If the candidate successfully passes the vendor exams associated with this course and the exams associated with any pre-requisites, then he/she will obtain Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
Structure
Course is ’instructor led’ and contains numerous practical activities so that students can gain hands-on experience.
Duration is sixteen weeks and students are required to attend both Monday and Wednesday evenings (6pm till 9pm) for this period.
The course prepares students for the following Mircosoft Certified Systems Administrator exams (70-270, 70-290 and 70-291).
Content
The course is delivered using Microsoft Official Academic Curriculum course materials and contains all topics covered by these courses.
Some of these topics are:
Server disk configuration, access to server-based resources, analysing server performance including remote administration, recovering from hardware failures, configuration of both DHCP and DNS.
Career Opportunities
Any IT support role where the individual would have to maintain, configure and troubleshoot a Windows Server 2003 based network.
Progression
Other courses, this course may provide access to a College or Higher Education institute. Short statement on further study available upon successful completion of programme. This field should also be used to highlight CPD opportunities and professional insititue recognistion.
Successful completion of this course would enable students to undertake an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) which is held in high esteem by the major players in the IT market.
Preferred Entry Requirements
Conditions which must be met prior to acceptance on the course, these can be levels of core skills, level of manual dexterity or other criteria which would prevent a candidate from fulfilling the course.
Completion of the MCDST certification or evidence of equivalent experience.
