'' The ECDL Advanced qualification is designed to raise the computer skills gained in the internationally successful European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) to the next level of competence. The course is task-based, and tests your competence at a much higher level than ECDL Foundation.

Structure
This course is delivered on an open learning basis at AdvanTech on the Halbeath Campus. You will use Microsoft Office software for practice and testing. The suggested timescale for completion is forty hours and you can attend at a time to suit your lifestyle and commitments.

ECDL Advanced Word Processing covers the following areas:
- Section Breaks
- Macros and AutoText Functions
- Forms with Drop-Down Fields and Check Boxes
- Editing
- Layout
- Special Tools
- Document Organisation
- Printing.

Career Opportunities
ECDL Advanced will prove that your competence with word processing is well above the basic skill level. It will help determine suitability for jobs where you are required to prepare reports, newsletters and forms or where use at a higher level is required.

Progression
You could use success on the ECDL Advanced Word Processing course as a basis for ECDL Expert certification. This certification is awarded on completion of all four ECDL Advanced units.
