Course Description:

'' This course will develop skills in Acting and Performance, which will be required by those seeking work in this area. The course covers the fundamentals of Acting, Movement, Voice and Production. In additional specialist skills will be developed Technical Support and in Leading a Workshop.

Structure
The course is available on a full-time basis over one year or on a part-time basis over 2 years. The qualification is accredited by SQA and is assessed continuously throughout. It will be delivered in Media Space - our centre of excellence in visual and dramatic arts, on the Halbeath campus.

Content
The course includes the following units:
- Voice 1: Developing Skills
- Movement 1: Developing Skills
- Acting 1: Developing Skills
- Production 1: Developing Skills
- An introduction to Technical Theatre
- Creating Drama Scripts
- Live Performance Administration
- Shakespeare in Practice.

Successful completion of this course could lead to professional work in the theatre or the performance industry. The skills developed are also beneficial for a broad range of other employment areas.

The HNC Acting and Performance equips students with the skills and knowledge required to apply for a range of courses offered by a variety of Colleges and Universities.
