Course Description:

'' This course has been designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge enabling them to gain employment in the Electronic, Microelectronic and related industries. Successful candidates will gain access to a variety of degree courses in Engineering.

Structure
The course is offered on a day release or flexible basis. The day release course requires attendance one day per week over two years. The flexible course is delivered in the Electrical Learner Base where students are able to proceed at their own pace using specifically designed learning materials with tutor support. Students can choose to attend the Learner Base or work at home with the materials provided. Attendance is only necessary to complete assignments, carry out practical work or seek assistance from the tutor.

Delivery takes place in a modern well equipped facility utilising industrial standard hardware and software.

The course comprises of a comprehensive package of units which are internally assessed by college staff and externally monitored by the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Assessments are undertaken on a continuous basis with no formal examinations.
