'' This is a comprehensive course covering the structure and functions of the human body and the basic principles of disease prevention.
Structure This course is a stand-alone SQA HN unit. Students will study three hours per week in a class as well as undertaking home based work. The course will take 100 hours of study to complete. The course is continuously assessed, with an additional project for the third learning outcome.
Content 1 Explain the normal functioning of the body systems 2 Describe Homeostasis and how it relates to health 3 Investigate the basic principles of disease prevention
Career Opportunities Completion of the unit shows higher level studying for those wishing to progress into nursing or other health care careers.
Progression This unit is part of an HNC in Healthcare and PDAs in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology.
