'' To obtain your CCIE Security qualification, you must first pass a written qualification exam and then a corresponding hands-on lab exam. This course is designed to prepare delegates for the lab exam which is an eight-hour, hands-on test of a delegates ability to get a secure network running in a timed test situation.
The course is heavily practical based providing an opportunity to practice exam type scenarios in a realistic test environment.
Delegates have access to their own rack of equipment for the duration of the course and subsequently for further practice.
Learn How To The best preparation for the lab exam is practical experience in configuration and troubleshooting a secure network.
The instructor led elements of the course revise all topics tested in CCIE Security Lab including VPN Concentrator, IDS, IOS 12.2 and PIX 6.X The practical exercises are based on the equipment set that will be used in the Cisco exam. The exam simulations are based on the type of scenarios that could be tested in the Cisco lab exam and will be thoroughly reviewed following comlpletion.
Course Outline Day 1: IOS Routing, Catalyst 3550 LAN switching, IOS Firewall, IDS and VPN Day 2: PIX Firewall and VPN, Client to PIX and Client to IOS EZVPN Day 3: VPN Concentrator and IDS 4.x appliance Day 4: Lab Simulation 1 Day 5: Lab Simulation 2
Who Needs to Attend The course is targeted at delegates preparing for the lab exam stage of their CCIE Security certification.
Suggested Prerequisites
Delegates attending this course must be Cisco Certified Security Professionals or have an equivalent level of knowledge of Cisco Security solutions including Cisco Firewalls, VPNs, and Intrusion Detection.
Ideally, candidates will have taken and passed the CCIE Security Written exam (this is required prior to booking the actual Cisco Security lab exam).
