Training Course:CCNA Fast Track ProgrammeSchool/Trainer:Global Knowledge (UK) Inc. Dublin,Maidenhead, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The data networking market only continues to grow. As more and more people become dependent upon data infrastructures, the requirements to build, configure, maintain and upgrade data and converging voice networks simply increases. The need for highly-trained network professionals will always be a requirement as companies expand their operations. The CCNA Fast Track Programme not only prepares new network administrators for the tasks they will face in the real world, it also gets them their CCNA certification.
The CCNA Fast Track Programme is a five-day course based on the Ciscos INTRO and ICND course but focussing solely on the content areas that will examined in the CCNA exam
Included are the following in this programme:
Prior to course commencement
Self-paced eLearning material for Cisco INTRO Course (40-47 hrs of training content) 4 Cisco eLabs (4 hrs of training content)
On course commencement:
5 day instructor led course CCNA Exam Voucher (only for UK scheduled sessions)
The days will run much longer than a typical ICND course due to the amount of additional exam preparation work that is covered.
Learn How To
Install and Configure Cisco Routers and Switches in Multiprotocol Networks Identify Components and Functions of the OSI Model Configure Basic Operation of Cisco IOS Software Configure a Router and Switch from Command Line Interface Use System Files to Learn About Neighboring Devices Configure the Catalyst 1900 Switch Extend Switched Networks with Virtual LANs (VLANs) Interconnect Networks Using TCP/IP Determine IP Routes with RIP and IGRP Configure IP Access Lists Complete an ISDN BRI Call Connect to Frame Relay Services Configure Serial Connections to WAN Service Providers
Course Outline 1. Operating and Configuring Cisco IOS Devices 2. Managing Your Network Environment 3. Configuring Catalyst Switch Operations 4. Extending Switched Networks with VLANs 5. Determining IP Routes 6. Managing IP Traffic with Access Lists 7. Establishing Serial Point-to-Point Connections 8. Establishing Frame Relay Connections 9. Completing ISDN Calls
Hands-On Labs
Lab 1: Initial Switch Setup Configure the classroom PCs and switches with a basic IP configuration via the switch menu systems and HTTP interface.
Lab 2: Initial Router Configuration Using Setup Complete the classroom network by configuring the classroom routers with a basic IP and RIP configuration via the router utility, Setup.
Lab 3: Manual Configuration of the Router Perform additional configurations to the router that are not available through the Setup utility.
Lab 4: Router Examination Verify the various configurations that have been applied thus far.
Lab 5: Network Discovery with CDP Discover information about directly connected Cisco neighbor devices.
Lab 6: Remote Access via Telnet Access other Cisco devices and learn how to remotely manage them.
Lab 7: Using a TFTP Server Copy configuration files into and out of the router using TFTP.
Lab 8: Switch Examination Examine various aspects of the Catalyst switches used in the classroom.
Lab 9: Configure VLANs Configure and test various VLANS in a controlled environment.
Lab 10: Configure Trunks, VTP and STP Configure switch interfaces to carry multiple VLANs. Examine how VTP propagates VLAN information and how STP breaks switching loops.
Lab 11: Network Verification Examine how the routers interact with each other across the classroom network.
Lab 12: IGRP Change the classroom network from the RIP routing protocol to IGRP.
Lab 13: EIGRP Change the classroom network from the IGRP routing protocol to EIGRP.
Lab 14: OSPF Change the classroom network from the EIGRP routing protocol to OSPF.
Lab 15: Standard IP Access Lists Configure standard IP access lists to block network traffic and control telnet into the routers.
Lab 16: PPP and CHAP Change the router serial ports from HDLC to PPP using the CHAP authentication protocol.
Lab 17: Frame Relay Change the router serial ports from PPP to Frame Relay, and configure two virtual circuits across the classroom network.
Lab 18: ISDN and CHAP Place ISDN calls from the classroom routers to send data.
Who Needs to Attend The CCNA Fast Track Programme is for those who have a background in data networking and are looking to achieve the first level of Cisco certification, the CCNA.
For those who have not passed the INTRO exam (640-821) but wish to achieve CCNA Certification quickly.
Suggested Prerequisites
The participant should have good networking experience and a familiarity with commonly used networking terms and topologies, but do not require any cisco technology experience.
It is critical that all delegates have studied the Cisco Self-paced elearning content that is made available prior to course commencement.
In particular they must understand the Open System Interconnect (OSI) reference model, Binary and hexadecimal numbering IP addressing and subnetting.
