Training Course:Cisco MPLS in BPX and MGX Networks (CI-IMPLS)School/Trainer:Global Knowledge (UK) Inc. Dublin,Maidenhead, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The Implementing Cisco MPLS in BPX and MGX Networks (IMPLS) course focuses on the concepts and configuration for MPLS implementation on the BPX 8650 and MGX 8850 WAN Switches.
Learn How To After completing this course the student should be able to:
Explain the reasons for wanting to use MPLS Explain how MPLS works, both with IP and with ATM Explain the differences between MPLS operation over ATM versus IP Explain the need for VSI, and its implementation on the BPX Describe the physical and logical connections between the LSC and the BPX switch Configure and verify operation of MPLS on a BPX 8650 Explain the usage of VSI on the 8850 Describe the internal ATM interface between the RPM and the PXM Perform MPLS configuration for 8850 Perform ATM and Frame Relay Interworking between FRSM & the RPM cards Explain the MPLS edge function of classifying packets for QOS Describe the BPX 8650 core implementation of QOS using QBINs Explain the purpose of SCTs. Perform configuration of QOS parameters on MPLS edge routers and BPX 8650s Explain the assignment of labels when using VPNs and an ATM core Describe the purpose of external and internal routing protocols for MPLS VPNs, and the need for multiple routing tables (VRFs) Configure EBGP and IBGP Describe issues relating to migration of SWSW and FW levels to support MPLS on BPX and MGX 8850 platforms. Discuss currently available redundancy features, and how redundancy can be enhanced with design choices
Course Outline MPLS Background and Concepts Label Distribution Protocol MPLS Implementation: BPX 8650 Basics BPX LSC Configuration and Verification Laboratory MPLS Implementation: MGX 8850 Basics MGX LER Configuration and Verification Laboratory RPM Connection to non-MPLS CPE Laboratory QOS VPN VPN Configuration and Verification Laboratory MPLS IP and ATM Miscellaneous Topics
