'' This executive programme introduces participants to the concept of spreadsheets and leads them through step-bystep the basic construction of a spreadsheet. Executives will then learn how to improve the appearance of their spreadsheet with a view to creating a piece of presentable information upon which reflection/decisions can be made. Once these skills have been mastered, more advance use can be made of spreadsheets for problem-solving and decision-making. The main objectives for both the basic and advance programmes include: to understand concepts related to problem solving and decision making; to identify steps in the problem-solving process; and finally to use Excel in problem-solving and decision-making; solving problems with statistical analysis tools; data display using charts; applying logic in decision-making; using lookups to calculate and evaluate data; organising data for effective analysis; using excel scenarios for what-if analysis; enhancing decision making with solver.
