'' Glasgow Caledonian University is approved to offer programmes that meet the qualification standards for membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The mission of the programme is to enable students to gain nationally recognised qualifications through learning experiences of a high standard that develop the knowledge, skills and professionalism required for strategic and operational roles in Human Resource Management (HRM). It is aimed at practising managers and at graduates pursuing or looking to develop a career in human resources (HR).
The Pg Diploma programme aims to offer flexibility in terms of entry to the programme, modes of delivery and choice of modules, thus allowing our students to link work based learning with the conceptual frameworks of HRM and related disciplines. Through participation in the programme students develop an effective mix of people management competencies as identified by the CIPD whilst developing professional, study and transferable skills and techniques which assist in career development. Educational and Continuing Professional Development opportunities promote independent learning and high levels of professionalism and consultancy expertise. In essence students develop skills which will allow them to articulate and maximise the HR contribution to corporate objectives. Continuing to Masters Level provides an opportunity for students to develop and apply further critical, analytical and investigative skills, at a strategic level, through a Masters dissertation.
