'' Caledonian Business School now offers the BA Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management. The programme offers individuals in the field of occupational health and safety the opportunity to gain a formal qualification. The course is designed to cater for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds with a variety of different occupational circumstances and histories.

The overall aim of the course is to provide an educationally sound course of learning that will stimulate students to adopt an enquiring, analytical and creative approach to the management of occupational health and safety. The BA Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management satisfies the academic requirements for Grad IOSH. Subsequent to this students may progress by completion of the Initial Professional Development (IPD) and Professional Interview to Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).

Programme Aims
To provide graduates with the knowledge and skills appropriate for a career in Occupational Health and Safety;
To develop the students’ competence in and provide a comprehensive grounding in, the core areas of Occupational Health and Safety Management;
To stimulate an enquiring, analytic and creative approach to Occupational Health and Safety Management issues, and to encourage independent judgement and critical self- awareness;
To produce self-motivated students with the necessary transferable skills to succeed in a wide range of employment situations;
To provide students with the skills to adapt and respond positively to change;
To enhance development of the students’ interpersonal skills;
To provide flexibility regarding the mode of delivery;
To provide a critical understanding of research methodology;
To provide a foundation for further study or professional employment.
