'' This two-day course is designed as hands-on installation and support training for individuals new to EmailXtender. It covers the EmailXtender system as well as connectivity to Microsoft mail servers.

Learn How To

Describe the basic NT/Windows 2000 characteristics of concern with respect to EmailXtender services and group membership
Install and configure EmailXtender. Demonstrate the ability to properly connect to and communicate with the targeted mail server.
Demonstrate the ability to capture email messages within the EmailXtender server.
Describe and perform the methods of retrieving email messages that have been indexed and archived by EmailXtender.

Lab 2-1: Sizing the EX System Partitions

Calculate and review your Exchange environment, calculate your EX server container partition size, and calculate your EX server installation partition size.

Lab 2-2: Configure Your EX Server

Verify the IIS installation, verify the SMTP Service installation, install MSMQ, change MSMQ location, set the maximum RAM usage for SQL, install MDAC 2.6 with SP1, install the XML parser.

Lab 2-3: Perform Additional Setup Tasks

Create the service account, add the account to the Domain Admins group, modify the Local Security Policy, install the license server, add an EX license, configure archiving, create a MAPI profile, verify archiving.

Install EmailXtender Base and the EmailXtender Administrator.

Lab 2-5: Add Mailbox Connectors and Verify EX Functionality

Add mailbox connectors and verify EX functionality.

Lab 3-1: Work with Volumes

Close and open volume, remove a monthly index and re-index monthly data, dispose monthly data, restore monthly data from Lost and Found, move and return a container file, add a volume from another EX server (optional).

Create and test an exclusion rule, create and test a collection rule with an action rule.

Suggested Prerequisites



Working knowledge Windows 2000 server and Active Directory. Knowledge of networking components and protocols will add additional value.
