Training Course:NanotechnologySchool/Trainer:The Center for Professional Advancement Amsterdam, Netherlands
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' These days it is irresistible for anyone not to relate any particular area of science and technology to Nanotechnology, which refers to materials and structures at the nanoscale, i.e. < 100 nm (one-ten thousands of a millimeter). The impact or more precisely, the potential impact of Nanotechnology across all disciplines has become the subject of study for the majority of academic and industrial researchers. This is because the fundamental behavior of materials changes when engineered at the nanoscale. The race has begun to harness these beneficial properties in useful applications. Accordingly, the initial part of the course covers the science and technology at the nanoscale. This is followed by an overview of investment being made in this burgeoning field by both the private and public sectors across the globe. A substantial amount of time will be devoted to technologies being developed and practiced for producing nanostructured materials and devices. Four modules are devoted to different industrial sectors including chemicals and cosmetics, energy, electronics and biotechnology/pharmaceutical. The concluding session of the course will discuss the economics of nanotechnology, how the industry is getting organized, and who the major players are. ...''
