'' This course provides a comprehensive look at the broad spectrum of color additives that are used in decorative cosmetic products, including standard organic and inorganic pigments as well as pearlescent, fluorescent and surface treated ones. Starting with a discussion of color basics from a physics perspective, it then moves to the selection of colors from the viewpoints of regulations, stability, esthetics and economics. Once these principles have been covered, topics such as dispersion, color measurement and solving common color problems will be presented. In addition to the lecture format, there will be a participatory class exercise employed to re-enforce the material presented to the participants. ...''
