'' Anticipating potential future disputes and drafting contracts so as to minimise the clients exposure to risk is a guiding principle when drafting and negotiating contracts of all kinds. This course concentrates on those areas which are of particular importance (and often of particular difficulty) when negotiating IT contracts including: Defining what the supplier is to produce Acceptance testing - how do you know if the supplied software is compliant with the contract? Defects in the product - are "bugs" inevitable and to what extent can liability be excluded? Implied terms and exclusions - liability for consequential loss Maintenance and support Ownership of copyright Future changes to the software What if work starts before the contract is signed? This course is suitable for both non-contentious and contentious practitioners. Although the course concentrates on contracts for the development of bespoke software, other contracts related to IT such as licensing agreements, systems implementation agreements, and facilities management agreements will also be covered. ...''
