'' This course, designed to build on our Introduction to Intellectual Property course, is ideal for newcomers to the subject and for anyone needing a basic grounding in trademark law and practice.
It provides an overview of the UK and EC trademarks systems, including the law of passing off and a description of the process of registering a trademark. The different approaches of some foreign jurisdictions - in particular, the United States - is also touched on. The considerations involved in creating a trademark, and the techniques of managing an international trademark portfolio, are also covered.
