'' This course provides delegates with knowledge and skill to perform network management tasks that are the most common yet critical to administrators of LANs and WANs. Emphasis is on the use of network management utilities of NetWare 6, deployment of NetWare 6 features, and troubleshooting skills that a student in an entry-level network administration position must have to manage the daily network operations of an organisation.

Monitor, restore, and optimise server health and network traffic
Manage and restore eDirectory
Manage the Novell Client throughout the network
Access online technical resources to troubleshoot network problem
Establish an internal & external certificate authority using Novell Certificate Server.
Determine server and user licensing needs in the NetWare 6 UAL model
Establish storage solutions using the NetWare 6 NetStorage, NetDrive, and iFolder solutions
Perform server and workstation backups
Restore the file system.
Add a NetWare 6 server the tree or upgrade a NetWare 5.1 server to NetWare 6.

Some experience with networking, not necessarily with NetWare. Student should know:
Adding, editing, deleting Objects in a directory
Assigning rights and managing user information in a directory
Managing traditional volumes and network storage
Managing email and Instant Messaging Services on a network
Managing and distributing workstation applications
Managing Enterprise user desktops
Managing printers and troubleshooting printers
