Learn How To
Analyse, design and integrate a successful implementation of Novell NetWare by identifying the critical factors for designing a Novell NetWare network
Determine the directory tree structure and object placement, using consistent naming for the upper layers and lower layers
Determine the partition boundaries for the directory tree and replica placement for each server

Assessing the Network
Assessing business needs; previewing case company information; defining the NetWare Design and implementation process; identifying the design and implementation team.

Defining and Justifying The Network Solution:
Defining a Network Solution; creating a design and implementation schedule; calculating the costs, benefits and risks; selling the solution; launching the design and implementation process.

Designing the Directory Tree:
Creating a naming standards document; NDS naming standard; guidelines for the upper layers; assessing other design considerations

Determining a Partition and Replica Strategy:
Determining a partition boundary strategy; partitioning issues.

Planning a Time Synchronisation Stragey:
Reviewing time synchronisation issues; planning a time synchronisation strategy.

Suggested Prerequisites

Delegates should have a basic understanding of NDS and have attended course 560, Novell NetWare 5.1 Administration and course 570, Novell NetWare Advanced Administration.
