'' A one year Post Graduate Programme in Agriculture and Journalism and Mass Communication has been launched by MANAGE from 2003. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Kanda, IAS, Secretary ( Agriculture and Cooperation), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India on February 3, 2003. The programme started with a brief introduction to the course content by Dr.Vikram Singh, the Principal Coordinator. Shri A.K.Goel, IAS, Director General, MANAGE, in his address mentioned, that only 5% of the news content is on agriculture while over 60% of the population in the country engaged in agriculture are interested to know the issues involved. He started that the students after the completion of the course would be sent to different states in the country as journalists to advocate the issues concerning farmers. ...''
