Course Description:
'' This half day event will cover the ¡®to-do¡¯ list for those involved in the strategic procurement of fuel in their business.
Aims If fuel efficiency was ever a top priority, that time is now. With the ever-volatile global oil price and, closer to home, disagreements over the road ahead for freight fuel tax, post the Burns Enquiry, greater efficiency is now at the top of the Government¡¯s road transport agenda. With the launch of the Department for Transport¡¯s newly re-branded Freight Best Practice Programme, how we purchase and optimise the use of fuel will in future undergo greater scrutiny.
As fuel accounts for up to 30 per cent of a business¡¯s operating costs, the role of the procurement director will become increasingly pivotal to ensure that the freight transport industry moves from tactical purchasing in order to shave pennies per litre, to the strategic procurement of fuel management leading to long-term cost reduction and greater fleet efficiencies.
This half day event will cover the ¡®to-do¡¯ list for those involved in the strategic procurement of fuel in their business.
