The hands-on, experiential and active learning experience introduces participants to the mapping, quantification and interactive modelling of energy flows over time in any organisation or community. Skills learned during the course can be applied immediately in a practical manner to a variety of key organisation or business issues:

Improving efficiency and effectiveness
Process improvement, optimisation and transformation
Financial modelling
Scenario modelling and testing
Policy options modelling
Business Flight Simulators that enable what if scenarios to be tested
Risk management
Staff morale and attrition reduction
Customer Value simulations
Reinforcing loops and counteracting loops (eg as staff morale goes down staff attrition rates increase, lowering overall knowledge and skill levels which further cause customer satisfaction to decrease etc)
Numerous relevant case studies from Australia and overseas are presented during the course in areas such as financial modelling, process flow improvements eg through emergency rooms, process improvements via optimisation and transformation, business case models demonstrating impact on suggested improvements, quantifying impact on customer value initiatives, quantifying HR initiatives and modelling their impact on organisations etc.

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The short course aims to equip participants with the fundamentals to enable complex organisation or system issues to be mapped and modelled in a simple fully interactive manner using state of the art software. Models enable various scenarios to be tested. Variables can be both ¡®hard¡¯ (numbers, costs, revenues, waiting times, turnaround times, productivity,¡­) and ¡®soft¡¯(staff morale, strength of relationships, likeability, customer value, human behaviour). High proportions of simple practical exercises enable rapid deployment of the newly acquired skills. Also included is exposure to the fundamentals of Systems Thinking/System Dynamics.
