'' This course is designed for Parliamentarians and their staff, auditors who are interested in learning more about performance auditing, public and private sector professionals who might undertake performance audits, and managers interested in contemporary trends in improving efficiency and effectiveness within organisations.
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Performance audits have developed over the past twenty years mainly in the public sector to provide assurance to Parliaments and senior management on the economy, efficiency and administrative effectiveness of the operations of agencies. The aim of this one-day workshop is to provide participants with an overview of performance audit methodology, using examples drawn from a range of live audits. The potential application of performance audits to the private sector will also be canvassed.

Definition and scope of performance auditing
Performance audit mandate and principles
Selection of performance audit topics
Planning and conduct of performance audits
Performance audit reporting and follow-up
Quality assurance and control
METHOD OF DELIVERY
The course will be conducted in an interactive, seminar style, and will include exercises and analysis of performance audit case studies.
