'' Many management problems arise when the activities of a busy day cannot be matched to long term priorities. Goals need to be translated into weekly and daily tasks. And the tasks of the day must be managed even when interrupted with urgent demands.
Constantly, people need to be able to make judgements of what is the most important task to do ¡®right now¡¯. Many people try to cope by working faster, harder and longer. But often people make errors when rushing. And they become fatigued, both mentally and physically, if they work excessive hours.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND This course is designed for frontline staff and managers in both the public and private sectors who want to enhance their personal productivity.
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES This course explores the principles and techniques used by successful people to resolve their time management problems. It will also explore the impact of not utilising good time management systems and principles.
COURSE CONTENT This one-day course will focus on:
Principles of time management Diagnosing current use of time Proactive behaviour Time management systems Action planning for the workplace METHOD OF DELIVERY The course will use a mixture of learning activities ¨C including short presentations of concepts, syndicate exercises, group discussion, as supporting video, self-diagnostic instruments and a comprehensive workbook for follow-up reference. Participants will be encouraged to identify strategies and actions that will make them more productive. The pace will be fast, focusing on the needs of the participants attending the course.
