What is the course about?
This is an experimental course and aims to take you beyond the intermediate level. Some of this will revolve around images that have problems and need correcting. Other aspects will involve artistic interpretation and experimentation. Some technical aspects of Photoshop will be covered.

What level is the course?
It is imperative that everyone already has a reasonable understanding of Photoshop. You have probably already been to another Photoshop course at The City Lit. The course will use Version CS2 on Macintosh Computers. It will be an obvious benefit if you already have a fair understanding of the Mac. At the very least you should also have a basic understanding of Photoshop Layers and Selections.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
The course is flexible. It will cover aspects of colour management, blending modes, layer masks, channel mixer, layers sets, paths and clipping paths, selections using channels, curves for optimum tonal range and colour control. A look at Preferences, making step wedges, shortcuts for productivity and image assessment. At the end of the course you may wish to burn a CD of the images used.
