'' Ideal if you want to experiment with a new way of working and seeing. You will produce drawings from a life model and manipulate them using Photoshop, to create one fully resolved digitally rendered figure study.

What is the course about?
This course caters for those students who wish to develop digital arts skills in an experimental life drawing situation. Students will have access to a life model and will be able to draw directly onto computer using Wacom technology and manipulated in Adobe Photoshop.
The digital arts studio is equipped with industry standard hardware and software. Apple Mac computers are used, but most of what is taught is also applicable to a Windows environment: tutors will explain differences. You may wish to take our 3 hour single session ’Introduction to using Apple computers for visual arts work’ first if you are more used to the Windows operating system.

What level is the course?
This course is ideally suited to students who have already gained traditional life drawing experience. Although not a necesity, it is advised that students should already have a basic understanding of Photoshop.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
The course will combine a simultaneous introduction to digital drawing from life and, a life model and, digital image manipulation. This is not a traditional drawing class although some students may wish to apply previous experience within the class. Experimental use of the drawing tablet with Photoshop is actively encouraged. Students will receive instruction in digital drawing techniques coupled with an introduction to the possibilities offered by Photoshop. This course would be useful for those wishing to explore the possibilies of new digital technologies within a fine art context.
