'' Explores the relationship between colour and drawing. Imaginative bridges will be built between these two expressive worlds. There will be one drawing session on location, for which you will need an A3 cartridge sketchpad. Other basic materials are included.

What is the course about?
This course aims to: - Provide a stimulating atmosphere for personal discovery. - Build bridges between the world of drawing and the world of colour. - Encourage an adventurous, imaginative and sensitive use of a variety of coloured drawing and painting media. - Highlight the connection between the visual and all other human faculties. - Encourage visual (non-verbal) thinking.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
A slide introduction will discuss the relationship between colour, drawing, painting and printmaking; focusing on the radical aesthetic upheaval of the nineteenth and early twentieth century. From this introductory session will follow an imaginative sequence of practical projects; coloured images, surfaces and compositions will be generated using a variety of drawing, collage and painting media and processes. A rich variety of work can be expected.

By the end of this course you should be able to:
• Select the appropriate colour and formal means with which to express a variety of ideas and sensations.
• Combine drawing and colour to maximum pictorial effect within a composition.
