What is the course about?
This is a course for beginners where you can try a number of short projects as an introduction to the subject.

This course will introduce students to the basic skills needed to make sculpture. This includes learning different sculptural techniques, ways of developing ideas for sculpture, improving your designs and basic drawing for sculpture. Students will also be introduced to the work of a wide range of sculptors.

This course will not focus on figurative work, so those wishing to pursue this as their main aim should consider applying for the ’Modelling from Life’ course.

This course is for all levels of ability.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
The first half of the term will consist of short projects designed to develop basic sculptural skills and based on the different techniques of modelling, casting, carving and construction. The second half of the term gives students an opportunity to design and create a sculpture choosing their own technique, with help from the tutor.

By the end of this course you should be able to:
