Course Description:
'' Prepare for the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (nivel Inicial) in May 2007. You should have completed ’Spanish 2 lower’, ’Spanish fast-track’ (modules 1-3), ’Spanish express’ courses 1 and 2 lower or equivalent. Based on Nuevo Ele intermedio (SM) and Uso de la gramática española elemental (Edelsa).The course fee includes nonrefundable exam costs payable in advance. Contact Languages for interview. Course fees payable in two instalments.

What is the course about?
To prepare students to the DELE First Certificate examination (Nivel Inicial) in May 2007. This is a demanding course, which requires a considerable amount of self study.

What level is the course?
Stage 2: upper course - Students should have attended a stage 2 course or have studied Spanish for approximately 2 years recently. An assessment interview is required for this course. Please contact the Languages Office as soon as possible to arrange an interview time.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
DELE (Nivel Inicial) exam topics: personal identification, house and home, education and career, leisure travel and transport, social relationships, health, shopping, food and drink, public services, language problems.
Grammar: all the main points of Spanish grammar will be included, especially: past tenses, conditionals, passive, imperative, future tenses, personal pronouns, relative pronouns, indefinite pronouns, conjunctions, word order.

Express opinion, agreement, disagreement (subjunctive in negative sentences)
