'' Continuing from Emergency Life Support and Basic First Aid, you will learn to deal with a whole range of injuries. Leads to a practical examination. Award St. John Ambulance Certificate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the course about? This course continues from the basic First Aid course and will deal with further types of injury and medical conditions. The course end with an exam.

What level is the course? - It is a second level First Aid course. - You must hold a lifesaver certificate not older than one year. - Full attendance is required.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)
The course covers what is expected of a First Aider:
1. Dealing with adult casualties who have airway/breathing/circulation problems caused by choking, suffocating, being strangled, or drowning, 2. Treatment for adults who have inhaled fumes, smoke or gas, 3. Dealing with someone who is suffering an asthma attack, 4. How to deal with a casualty who is hyperventilating, bleeding internally or suffering from Anaphylactic shock. 5. How to deal with bites and stings, bleeding minor, burns minor, fainting, sprains and strains.

What can I expect to achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Identify life threatening conditions. - Manage an unconscious casualty. - Perform CPR. - Perform artificial ventilation. - Recognise what to do when artificial ventilation does not work. - Identify when a casualty has been poisoned, burned or scalded. - Demonstrate how to deal with a casualty who is choking, fainting, suffering a heart attack or has injuries to muscles or skeleton. - Recognise Hypoglycaemia. - Describe how to deal with epilepsy, suffocation, drowning and inhaled fumes. - Practise First Aid.
