'' Ideal for absolute beginners who want to give tap dancing a go. Suitable for students of all ages with good general fitness. Tap shoes are obligatory.

What is the course about?
To teach basic foundation of American and stage tap dance.
Introduce basic understanding of rhythm and syncopation.
Teach simple tap routine of steps for audition or performance.

Some experience of dance (jazz/contemporary etc.) is useful but not essential.

Students will work on a simple routine of 16 or 32 bars. Students will practise all basic vocabulary of tap-steps. Each week new steps are taught and exercises and practice encouraged.

Dance a simple tap routine.
Perform basic double and treble steps (Tap-step, shuffle, ball-change, etc).
Perform a simple time-step.
