What can I expect to achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to:
Embody the fundamental Flamenco dance posture and style
Accurately demonstrate a selection of basic footwork combinations
Demonstrate basic co-ordination of arms / feet / head / wrists / turns
Demonstrate basic understanding of the origins of Flamenco and its historical and cultural context
Distinguish the ’compas’ (the rhythmic pulse, the beat) of Flamenco and demonstrate this by accompanying the music / dance with appropriate basic ’palmas’
Perform a selection of short basic choreographies and dances
