'' To learn the basic structure of time steps in rhythm. To learn unique classic and modern timesteps/sequences. To perform steps to a wide range of musical styles. To encourage students to create their own timesteps

What level is the course? Some experience of tap is essential (i.e. for those students who have completed stage 1 or 1A American tap.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects) Students will begin with the basic English and American timesteps and then explore more complex forms as the course progresses. Emphasis will be placed on creativity with students encouraged to choreograph their own timesteps and sequences and to perform to the music of their choice.

What can I expect to achieve? By the end of this course you should be able to: Perform all the basic English and American time steps (with appropriate breaks) and variations. Understand the structure of time step chorography. Perform several unique modern timesteps/sequences. Perform several classic time steps by masters such as Bill Bojangles Robinson (the creator of the time step). Choreograph your own timestep(s)/sequence(s).
